Rienzi Melville Johnston
as a confederate drummer boy
Rienzi Johnston was the publisher of the Houston Post and prominent in the Democratic Party in the early part of the twentieth century.  He served briefly as a United States Senator in 1913.  The MFAH house museum, Rienzi, was named in his honor by his granson Harris Masterson III who donated the house to the Museum of Fine Arts.
